Benjamin Deitchman, Ph.D. is a Visiting Assistant Professor of Public Policy in the Saunders College of Business at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) and a Faculty Affiliate in RIT's Department of Public Policy. He teaches courses in government, ethics, corporate social responsibility, and organizational behavior at the graduate and undergraduate levels.
Dr. Deitchman's research focuses on the multiple dimensions of climate and clean energy policy at subnational levels of governance. He has conducted event history analysis on innovations in energy efficiency financing policies, macroeconomic modelling of the employment impacts of clean energy programs, and empirical analysis of gubernatorial politics and intergovernmental challenges in the climate and energy policy domain. His work has appeared in peer-reviewed and edited publications of the Oak Ridge National Laboratory, US Department of Energy, American Council for an Energy Efficiency Economy, the Georgia Tech Enterprise Innovation Institute, as well as in the journals Environmental Practice and Strategic Planning for Energy and the Environment. He previously served as the Regional Program Coordinator of the National Association of State Energy Officials. In the education policy realm he has worked in program evaluation in the public school system and continues to examine K-12 STEM programs.
Dr. Deitchman earned his Bachelor of Arts in History from the Johns Hopkins University, his Master of Public Administration from the George Washington University, and his Doctor of Philosophy in Public Policy from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
